Hello! I don't know if you remmeber me but I met you a year or so ago - I'm a friend of Joel's and he organised this trip to the Tiger brewery?
Anyway, I don't know if you've seen the online petition to the PM to repeal the law decriminalising gay sex. If you haven't, please take a look at http://www.repeal377a.com - the petition closes on October 19.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you this law is asinine. If two guys want to get it on, that's their own business - why should the law get involved? In the meantime the fact that it's illegal makes it hard to teach safe gay sex in sex education or in HIV/AIDS outreach, which means there is actually a public health issue at stake! If people can't talk freely about the act because it's criminal, they can't talk about how to do it safely either!
It would be great if you could sign the petition, ideally with your real name, and even better if you could publicise the URL to the readership of your blog. Or email your friends! Every signature is important to show the government that it's NOT true that Singapore's people oppose tolerance, equality and dignity for gays. I mean, what's so bad about a little bum sex anyway?!
Please consider helping, anything at all would be appreciated.
