Centrino and Linux
If you're a Linux user planning on buying a new Centrino notebook which uses the Intel Pro Wireless 2200bg (as opposed to the older 2100b), be warned that there is, as yet, no native driver supported by Intel for it. You can still use
Linuxant's driver loader to load your winblows driver in Linux, but the bad news is twofold. Firstly, you have to purchase it. Secondly, the drivers require a stack size of about 12k. Linuxant has built a few kernels with a stack size of 16k which are available for download.
I am currently using their trial version, for which the license lasts 30 days, and it's working fine so far. I do, however, hope to see a native Linux driver soon. For those interested in that project, you can find it on sourceforge
here. Cool as Centrino is, however, I think I'm going to swear off Intel products after this. What's the point of choosing their hardware if they won't let me choose my software?
Well, enough about me, how have you guys been? That's assuming that anyone is still reading my blog after I've practically dissed the world in my previous posts. I guess I may have offended quite a few people in the past, but some things have happened to me recently which made me rethink my entire approach towards life and my attitudes towards other people. In that light, I wish to formally apologise to anyone I may have offended with my previous posts. I am truly and sincerely sorry.
I am very, very sorry that you're all a bunch of fucking morons who cannot recognise the brilliance of my writing. If you actually believed that I was sorry for pissing your insignificant self off, then I am doubly sorry that you are a gullible wad of stale cum who will believe anything you read. You guys still suck, and I still rock. Never forget that.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA
